N.J. Berrill's "Tunicata" was published by the Ray Society in 1950, and is an account of the British species, covering both sessile and pelagic tunicates. The first chapters deal with habitat, life cycle and distribution, then anatomy, physiology and classification. The following sections detail the 75 species, with a thorough account and superb illustrations of each. Over 60 years after its publication, "The Tunicata" remains one of the most important works on the Ascidiacea.
